INTRODUCTION
Everyone thinks they have Britney Spears all figured out. Rich, beautiful, talented, and a Southern girl. Sure, Britney Spears is all those things, and more. She is driven, loves her family, fantastic mother, devoted wife, passionate, and charasmatic. The list simply goes on and on. How did Britney Spears come to be all these things, having been just a simple country girl with dreams of the big time? Remember how I listed driven as one of Britney's many traits? That is one of the factors.
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Britney Jean Spears was born on December 2nd, 1981 to Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears, a building contractor and teacher, respectively in Kentwood, Lousiana. She already had an older brother named Bryan born a few years before she. Already at a young age, Britney showed she had talent. She was always dancing and singing and performing to anybody who wanted to watch her! Britney let her family know she was interested in the entertainment field so her mother decided to enter her in some local talent shows and her talent was too huge to ignore. She landed a plum roll in the off-Broadway production entitled Ruthless! where she played a wicked young child. She had auditioned for the New Mickey Mouse Club but was considered too young for the part. In 1992, she performed on the television talent search entitled Star Search. She won the first round, but lost the second. Now a little older, she won a spot on MMC. She was there for the 1993 - 1994 seasons at the age of 11. After the show ended, Britney was crushed. She returned back to her normal life in high school, only to realize she craved the spotlight. She recorded a demo and was heard by a Jive Records A&R rep. She was signed to the record label and did several mall tours and joined 'N Sync as their opening act.
